The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada sets the standards for medicine in Canada. Through accreditation of medical education programs, setting exams and providing certification, it ensures the highest level of competence for physicians. The Royal College also facilitates high quality life-long learning for physicians throughout their careers.
True to its vision, “The best health for all. The best care for all”, the Royal College is committed to sharing knowledge, expertise and ideas as widely as possible, not only with its members, but also with international partners.
- KSMU and the Royal College signed an academic partnership (KSMU is an academic partner to the Royal College)
- The Royal College is working with KSMU toward improving residency-training programs at KSMU, including the implementation of the CanMEDS framework– a framework that identifies and describes the skills physicians must possess to effectively meet the health care needs of the people they serve.
- The Royal College is also reviewing and consulting KSMU on training standards and measuring them against those of the Royal College.
The Royal College is also working with KSMU on faculty development and program director training.
