4th and 5th year students of the faculty of General Medicine of Kazan State Medical University Gabdulkhaev Ramil and Shakirov Arseny started an internship at the University of Niigata (Japan) under the G-MedEx international exchange program.
The internship program includes getting acquainted with the Japanese healthcare system and studying the latest achievements of high-tech medicine in Japan. The curriculum includes lectures by the leading professors of the Japanese medical school, Dr. Masaaki Sato and Dr. Katsuya Fuse, who address topics of population aging in the realities of modern Japan and the need for research in the practice of a doctor. Students are being introduced to the leading medical centers in Niigata Prefecture (Niigata University Medical and Dental Hospital, Uonuma Kikan Hospital and Koide Hospital). In addition, students practice at the Orthopedic Surgery Department (Arseniy Shakirov) at the Niigata University Medical and Dental School) and at the Pathology Neuroscience Laboratory (Ramil Gabdulkhaev) at the Niigata University Brain Research Institute.
