Assistant of professor at KSMU Neurology, Neurosurgery and Medical Genetics Department Anna Nalbat has undergone monthly clinical internship in the US. The training took place at the Norwalk Hospital of the Western Connecticut Health Network as a part of the Global Health program. The objectives of this internship were exchange of clinical experience and introduction to the principles of postgraduate medical education and residency training in the United States. Professor Stephen Winter was Anna’s mentor for the course.
Anna was given the opportunity to attend morning rounds and observe the work of the residents in intensive care unit. She was also invited to attend daily conferences for residents. This experience allowed Anna to define the features and differences of postgraduate medical education in the United States compared to Russia.
